Overview
Responsible to the Distribution Supervisor for receiving, inspecting, verifying, controlling, and delivering mail and related items to all departments within Beebe Medical Center and related Family Health Centers.
Responsibilities
Receives incoming mail, from Post Office, departments within Beebe Medical Center, and related satellites. Accurately sorts mail in a timely manner for delivery to departments within Beebe Medical Center, and related satellites. Picks up and delivers inter-hospital mail to departments in a timely manner. Accurately processes outgoing mail through the postage meter machine in a timely manner. Communicates with Purchasing to maintain expense of postage meter. Determines workflow priorities so that the mail is not interrupted; utilizes scheduled work time appropriately. Responsible for physician mail delivery - sequesters mail at the mailroom and sorts to the physicians file in the Mailroom for delivery. Maintains a neat, clean work environment. Assures that work is accomplished in a safe and technically correct manner consistent with departmental and medical center policies and procedures. Maintain and care for department equipment and supplies. Maintain security, cleanliness, and order in the Mailroom. Maintain established hospital policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control and comply with codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
One-year experience in a mailroom or related area preferred. On the job training is provided. Ability to communicate well and expediently sort and perform clerical work is required. Ability to work independently in a quick and professional manner.

Beebe's Medical Staff has grown tremendously since the early 1990s.
