The President & Chief Executive Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of Shenandoah Community Health. With a $40 million operating budget, the President & CEO will lead and manage the executive leadership team, including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations/Information Officer, Chief Clinical Officer, and Pharmacy Director/Compliance Officer. Additional direct reports include the Human Resources Manager, Marketing Manager and Executive Assistant.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide visionary and strategic leadership and translate that vision into measurable strategies and concrete achievements that advance the mission.
Assure that funding and resources are obtained to meet current and future organizational needs, and they are allocated properly so that appropriate and relevant services are provided.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for Federally Qualified Health Centers.
Support the board’s governance role, foster its ongoing development, and keep it informed and engaged.
Lead the administrative and financial functions and oversee the formulation of policies.
Oversee services, evaluate quality and effectiveness, maintain data, and ensure outcomes are measured, discussed, and used in making decisions.
Develop and maintain professional relationships and serve as a spokesperson for the organization for purposes of informing, fundraising, and working in partnerships.
Propose annual budget and modifications and ensure timely and accurate reporting to board and funders.
Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
Ensure that there is an effective executive and clinical leadership team.
Maintain a climate that attracts and retains top quality clinicians and support staff.
Identifies Grant opportunities and prepares or guides staff in the preparation of Grants.
Maintain an open dialog with HRSA and other government entities governing community health care organizations
Qualifications & Education:
Five or more years’ senior level organizational management experience in the administration of comprehensive primary care organizations or Federally Qualified Health Center.
An inspiring and inclusive leadership style with a successful track record of collaboratively managing and supporting staff, and experience with culturally and racially diverse staff and constituencies.
Experience with a board of directors and developing engaged and effective governance.
Master’s degree or higher preferred in health services administration or related field.
