Reporting
to the Director of Pharmacy Services at UCLA Health West Valley Medical
Center and the UCLA Health Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer for Quality,
you will be responsible for the clinical pharmacy programs. You will
develop and implement clinical pharmacy programs, provide professional
development opportunities to pharmacy staff, and support the medication safety,
regulatory compliance, and pharmacy residency programs. You will
independently select Pharmacy staff or participate in the interviews and
recommend who should be hired; independently determine Pharmacy staff/direct
reports’ performance ratings or recommend performance ratings; independently
decide who will be selected for promotional opportunities, and whether to
request the reclassification of a position, or recommend these actions. You
will have independent authority to issue written warnings and suspensions and
determine what discipline should be imposed upon a subordinate OR recommends
such actions; have independent authority to resolve grievances or complaints or
formulate and recommend a resolution to grievances or complaints.
Activities
will include:
Developing and implementing
clinical and cost-containment programs related to drug therapy, which are
consistent with the mission/goals of the Department and of the
organization
Providing direct supervision to
pharmacists and certified, licensed, and skilled technical employees in
inpatient Pharmacy practice areas.
Functioning as an advisor to
the department, Pharmacy leadership and Medical Center administration.
Analyzing and resolving
problems, interpret policies (e.g., operational, management, HR, resource
management in defined areas) and demonstrate solid subject matter
knowledge (e.g., regulatory, operational and clinical).
Exercising judgment within
defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
Supervising staff to assure
accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational,
financial and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
