The Clinical Nurse Lead coordinates shift operational flow in conjunction with organizational and departmental strategic goals, objectives, and standards and is the hospitals clinical representative/resource for patients, families, and the healthcare team, at both the departmental and organizational levels. The clinical nurse lead supports staff to ensure consistent provision of developmentally appropriate quality patient care in accordance with all applicable federal, regulatory, professional standards and requirements. Provides clinical support with accountability in promoting quality patient care and an engaging work environment, during assigned shift. Routinely places self in unit nurse count.
Education
Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
Experience
Two (2) years of operating room circulating experience; well-grounded within an acute care inpatient setting. (Required)
One (1) year of experience in area of surgery specialty. (Required)
Experience with pediatric patients. (Required)
Three (3) years of operating room circulating experience. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of AZ RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association (must be obtained by date of hire). (Required)
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) from the American Heart Association (PALS or ACLS). (Required)
Current and valid nursing certification in area of surgery specialty (CNOR, CCRN, CPN, or RCIS). (Preferred)
Special Skills
Must be able to follow and give oral and written instructions. (Required)
Must possess the ability to delegate tasks to patient care personnel and oversee their performance. (Required)
Must complete the PCH Preceptor course within three months of accepting the position. (Required)
