SUMMARY OF POSITION:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: 

• Demonstrates exceptional customer services skills in handling written and oral requests from patients and/or their families.
• Demonstrates strong analytical ability when performing pro-active account analysis in accordance with established productivity standards. 
• Performs all patient accounting functions including billing, follow up, adjustments, and refunds. 
• Utilizes the patient account billing systems (physician and hospital) to update and or correct billing and financial information.
• Processes appropriate adjustments, allowances, charge corrections, refunds, payments and payment reversals. 
• Facilitates the necessary paperwork or establishes charity care and time payment determination. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 
• Minimum one (1) year of additional experience in a customer service setting and knowledgeable of third party payer billing and follow-up.
