The 3D Imaging Team Leader serves as the modality technical expert for assigned modality and/or imaging location. The Team Leader is a “working supervisor” and is expected to perform clinically, coordinate the work of the team, and supervise the delivery of patient care. While the Team Leader's primary responsibility is coordination of patient care, the supervisory responsibilities include oversight of patient safety, process improvement, quality, consistency and standardization of imaging protocols, staff competencies & training, policy adherence, equipment, staff schedules, and supply management. Works closely with modality manager and/or operations manager to provide administrative leadership assistance.
Job Duties
Coordinates and supervises the delivery of patient care and imaging functions within assigned locations.
Works within the Scope of Practice of his/her specialty.
Team Leaders maintains technical competency
Provides day-to-day supervision for an assigned radiology modality to include patient safety, process improvement, quality, standardization, validation of staff competency, training coordination, policy adherence, equipment and supply management.
Ensures that all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed by qualified and competent staff, are of the highest quality achievable and follow the radiation safety principles of ALARA, ACR Guidelines for imaging practices, and ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety, if applicable.
Works directly with lead technologists and front line staff to solve problems and reduce barriers to success.
Works collaboratively with others to ensure a high level departmental safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsible for the clinical functions and processes for assigned Radiology area.
Responsible for managing/coordinating ACR accreditation of assigned locations, if applicable.
Has knowledge of and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting requirements for assigned section including American College Radiology, Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, Joint Commission, Department of Health, NRC, Department of Environmental Protection.

Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
OR
Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
If ARRT is primary pathway, Post-primary registry in one of the following is also required (both are preferred):

In lieu of bachelor's degree, 4 additional years of medical imaging experience will be accepted.
