Position Summary
This position will be located at our main hospital at 1919 E Thomas Road. The shift is Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. There may be a future requirement for a rotating weekend.
This position oversees the daily activities of the specialty medication management processes in the Phoenix Children’s Specialty Pharmacy and provides comprehensive pharmacy services to patients from neonate to adulthood while performing the duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy and Phoenix Children’s. Clinical Pharmacists ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. This position reports directly to the Specialty Pharmacy Supervisor for daily staffing, operations duties, and annual evaluation. The position reports directly to the Specialty Pharmacy Supervisor and is professionally accountable to the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services.
Education
- Bachelor?s Degree (BS) or Doctorate Degree (Pharm.D) in Pharmacy. (Required)
Experience
- One (1) year experience in an outpatient, specialty, or hospital pharmacy practice or equivalent. (Preferred)
- Experience with information systems and automated and technical equipment. (Required)
- One (1) year previous pediatric patient population experience or equivalent. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Current licensure as a pharmacist or eligible, either by reciprocity or examination by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. If contracted services individual, eligible to practice under an Arizona Board of Pharmacy Limited Services Pharmacy Permit. (Required)
- Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) certification. (Preferred)
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Preferred)
- Current Immunization Certificate issued by the Arizona Board of Pharmacy. (Preferred)
Special Skills
- Experience with various types of computer software, including MS Office Suite or equivalent. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative and effective working relationships with all members of the pharmacy and patient care team. (Required)
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. (Required)
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to meet assigned goals. (Required)
- Demonstrated excellence in provision of customer service. (Required)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish ? Preferred but NOT required. (Required)
