This position is primarily engaged in teaching, research and service. The candidate must hold, the doctorate (or recognized terminal degree) from an acceptable accredited institution in the field of specialization or closely related discipline at the time of hire. Must have developing program of scholarly research, experience in teaching, or professional work of high caliber, and willingness to participates in University related service duties at least at the departmental level.
General Description/Primary Purpose:
The Department of Health Administration is seeking a 9-month, tenure earning, Assistant Professor in the Health Administration programs (master’s in Health Informatics). This position will report to Dr. Rob Haley, Chair of Health Administration.
The successful candidate will:
Teach in the undergraduate and graduate Health Administration programs, specifically the graduate program in Health Informatics
Conduct research and publishing in an area of expertise
Participate in the academic life of the school (i.e. attend faculty meetings, participate in curriculum review/development, assess student learning, etc.), as well as serve on various committees as appropriate in the department, college, and university
Work with appropriate academic disciplinary bodies and professional organizations outside of UNF
Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 4, 2025

Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role
Required Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics; Public Health Informatics; Healthcare Analytics; Health Data Science; Computer Science; or Information Systems. A Ph.D. in Health Administration, Health Services, or a clinical discipline may be considered with a master’s degree in Health Informatics or related field. Health Administration, Health Services, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution conferred no later than the hire date is required.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
Teaching experience in health information technology, health or clinical informatics, data science, information science is preferred
The successful candidate should demonstrate a capacity to work among diverse constituencies in the immediate university community and beyond
