Inova Schar Heart and Vascular is seeking an experienced Vascular Medicine Physician, as such this provider will maintain ultimate responsibility for the medical care of patients for Vascular Surgery.
The Vascular team consists of:
10 vascular surgeons and 16 vascular interventional radiologists dedicated to the total care of each vascular patient
Patient access to seamless, multifaceted care at all five Inova hospitals and seven outpatient physician offices, including a broad range of on-site vascular diagnostic imaging
Hybrid operating rooms for synchrony of assessment and treatment, resulting in reduced complication rates and quicker recoveries
Provide expertise to develop guidelines for the prevention and management of infections for each transplant program to minimize infection-related morbidity and mortality
Provide education support for each transplant program to ensure that clinical protocols are standard of care and that physicians are well trained
Collaborate with community infectious disease partners to build and engage a robust network of providers knowledgeable and competent in managing transplant infectious disease-related issues.
Provides expertise in prevention, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases related to transplant/Advanced Heart Failure/Advanced Lung Disease.
Assures quality care to patients with infectious diseases within the heart, lung and kidney transplant populations and the advanced heart failure and advanced lung disease population.
Focus of Vascular Medicine:
Vascular Medicine focuses on prevention, awareness, and the medical care of vascular disease which is growing exponentially. Vascular Medicine is complementary and supportive of the current vascular program at ISHV especially in regards to hypercoagulability, vasculitis, venous disease (thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, varicose veins) and vascular imaging.
Increase of patient access in partnership with therapeutic offerings for rare vascular diseases
Establish and support of outpatient clinics

Ideal Candidates should have 3+ years of attending experience in Vascular Medicine.
Licensure, Education, and Certifications
Virginia License or able to obtain
Valid DEA
Current BLS/ALCS
Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Vascular Medicine
