Job Summary
As a Procedural Registered Nurse, you will work as a licensed professional and use the nursing practice model to oversee patient care by the healthcare team. Your responsibilities will involve assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses for health issues, and developing personalized care plans. You will also assess patient responses regularly. Your contributions will help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the healthcare system. This will prevent complications and delays. Delegating tasks to other staff will be based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
What You'll Do
Manage symptoms in cancer patients
Help to manage the side effects of treatments, such as chemotherapy
Work with physicians and other medical staff to prevent, diagnose, treat, and manage cancer symptoms
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and family members
Provide patient education on cancer terminology, symptoms, and how to live a healthy lifestyle while undergoing treatment
Administer medication to cancer patients
Assess a cancer patient's mental and emotional needs
Coordinate with other health care providers

Having an in-depth understanding of nursing as well as patient care standards and procedures is crucial.

Qualifications
Accredited program or (2) two years minimum, required for this position.
A major focus or specialization in Nursing.
Ideally, some relevant professional experience, though less than a (1) one year would suffice.
Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
