The role you'll Contribute:

The Patient Accounts Specialist is responsible for duties specific to the assigned department that supports the functions of the Revenue Cycle for AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.   Assist in meeting departmental goals in accordance to the hospital strategic plan.  Patient Accounts Specialist will foster a patient-focused environment in the department; maintaining acceptable standards of service and assisting in creating a vision for the area which reflects the vision and values of Advent Health Shawnee Mission.

• Maintain a 98% RQA score each month
• Remain current on insurance knowledge and changes
• Obtain and process accurate patient demographic and insurance information

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time
• Medical terminology knowledge – preferred
• Experience in a Patient Access setting or as a patient accounts specialist – preferred
