About Duke HomeCare & Hospice
Pursue your passion for caring with Duke HomeCare & Hospice, which offers hospice, home health, and infusion services across the region, as well as serves as the home forthe Duke Caregiver Support Program. Team members work closely with a patient's physician to provide comprehensive, individualized care in the comfort of their home or at our inpatient hospice facility in Durham, NC.
General Description of the Job Class
Responsible for coordinating the maintenance, cleaning, and tracking of Infusion Control Devices (ICDs) within established standard. Responsible for maintaining documentation of ICDs by use of a computer software program and for providing service reports as required to PSCs and manager. Responsible for delivery of ICDs to assigned areas within the Duke University Medical Center (DUMC).
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Maintain appropriate inventory levels on ICD's.
Maintain accurate and complete records of ICS's including utilization and service aspects, using a structured asset tracking system.
Provide monthly rental lists and location reports.
Perform routine maintenance and documentation as outlined in the company policies and procedures.
Maintain preventative maintenance and documentation as outlined in the company policies and procedures.
Assist PSC's in determining when ICD's need to be switched out for scheduled maintenance.
Responsible for maintaining biohazard waste disposal area.
Oversee the equipment maintenance and asset management programs.
Maintain and insures that equipment is clean, maintained, and ready for patient use.
Deliver ICD's to Duke University Medical Center and prepares pump billing monthly. Perform various warehousing duties, such as shipping, receiving, and general warehouse cleaning. Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with State, Local, and Federal laws and/or regulations (including FDA, DOT, OSHA, etc.)
Maintain current driver's license and current auto insurance at required levels of coverage.
Immediately reports all vehicle accidents and traffic violations to Distribution Center supervisor and the General Manager.
Use safe lifting techniques in loading and unloading equipment.
Consistently practice established infection control procedures.
Observe all company safety rules and regulations.
Assist warehouse staff as needed.
Maintain packing slip folder.
Accept assignments willingly.
Exhibit an attitude, which promotes harmony and goodwill among patients, caregivers, and co-workers.
Answer phone calls and takes messages related to the warehouse.
Communicates clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
Communicate in a timely manner.
Listen effectively to patient, caregivers, co-workers, and supervisor.

Attends regular staff meetings to gather and disseminate information.
Establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers.

Promote quality, comprehensive services to all customer through a team approach.
Participate in weekly and monthly on call schedule.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Previous ICD technical training preferred
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Current driver's license with a good driving record free of restrictions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Must display a neat, clean, professional appearance.
Must understand importance of and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
