In a High Reliability Organization, Infection Preventionist is responsible for monitoring and implementing Infection Surveillance, Prevention, and Control. Responsible for facilitation of the local infection prevention and control program under the direction of the Infection Prevention or Quality Leader. Serves as a resource on, infection risk assessment, surveillance, prevention, and control strategies. Acts as a resource to the members of the management team in reference to guidelines for infection prevention and control. Utilizes epidemiology principles to monitor the delivery of patient care and investigate potential outbreaks of infection. Assists with the facilitation of action plans to mitigate the risk of infection spread through collaboration with leadership. Maintains knowledge of external regulatory standards related to infection surveillance, prevention, and control and contributes to the hospital's policies and practices, as related to infection prevention and control per CDC and State guidelines.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
Bachelor?s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health, or other health-related field required.
Associate degree nurses may also be considered.
Experience
3 years of healthcare or public health experience preferred.
Prior Infection Prevention experience preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
CBIC CIC (Certification in Infection Control) within 3 years of hire.
