About the Team:
Labcorp Birmingham performs automated and manual lab testing for over 60,000 patient specimens each day, in a variety of specialized disciplines using state of the art instrumentation and technology. This team works in a high-throughput, high volume laboratory providing accurate and timely results. Learn about the technical operations and specimen analysis through being in a lab assistant role supporting credentialed professional medical laboratory scientist and technologists.
Gain valuable experience in a variety of laboratory settings, from pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical areas
Train on specimen stability, best laboratory practices and quality metrics
Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your business acumen and professional presence
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
Working towards bachelor?s degree, preferably in a Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Microbiology program
Must be a current student and graduating December 2025 or Spring 2026 (preferred) or by spring 2027
Career goals that align with working in a medical diagnostic, medical toxicology, or anatomical pathology lab as a technologist
High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast paced high-volume environment and while prioritizing and manage multiple tasks
Comfortability with handling biological specimens such as blood, urine, stool, serum, or plasma.
Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and internal/external colleagues
Embraces diverse ways of thinking through various forms collaboration and partnership

Pay Range: $17.00-$21.00/hr
All job offers will be based on a candidate?s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
