Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 600+ provider multispecialty group seeking a board certified/board eligible Geriatrician to join a very unique multidisciplinary team-based clinic.
This team supports our Memory Center and Geriatrics Consult Clinic and is comprised of Geriatricians, Neurologists, Geriatric Psychiatrist, Advance Practice Practitioners, Social Workers, Pharmacists, and a Chaplain. We have clinics in Boise, Nampa (20 minutes from Boise) and Eagle (15 minutes from Boise). Interested Physicians may potentially work from any of these locations, opt to make house calls and choose to engage in teaching as an attending to a geriatric fellow, residents, and medical students on geriatric rotations.
Well-qualified candidates should be passionate and knowledgeable about older adults' health issues, possess a geriatric medicine background, and a desire to provide outpatient geriatric consultation with an organization committed to high-quality and compassionate care, healing the body, mind, and spirit. The ideal candidate will commit to patient care while demonstrating and modeling our organization's mission, vision, and values.
The schedule for this full-time (1.0 FTE) opportunity is a traditional weekday schedule consisting of a 4-day work week with direct fact-to-face patient care and 1 day dedicated for administrative responsibilities; a minimum of 34 hours of patient contact time. There is no call.
Requirements for this opportunity include:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
Successful completion of an accredited internal medicine or family medicine residency program
Geriatrics Expertise:
Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), or
Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), or
Certification in the Subspecialty of Geriatric Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), or
Obtain such certification within 3 years of employment, or
Ten years of practice experience devoted primarily to the care of older patients
Idaho medical license, registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA (controlled substances), privileges at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center
