Take on an important role in a world-class health organization at our Department of Computational Medicine at UCLA. The department provides a hub for collaborations across the UCLA campus to enable scientific discovery in biomedical data sciences and then works hand in hand with the UCLA Health System to apply these discoveries to improve patient care. Within UCLA's campus lies a prestigious medical school, a world-class research hospital, and nationally-ranked departments within the engineering school with significant strength in data sciences.
We currently have a leadership opportunity available for a Program Manager with our Department of Computational Medicine. The Program Manager will work closely with the chair of the department and is responsible for:
Implementing the programmatic activities of the department.
Hiring and supervising staff to support the activities.
Identifying and pursuing new opportunities to further the mission of the department, which is to build a leading academic program in data science applied to biomedical data, and to stimulate innovations in patient care by leveraging advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Building productive relationships with other departments and institutes in the Schools of Medicine and Engineering, industry sponsors, outside institutional partners, and funding agencies.
Preparing annual reports for federal grants, contributing to grant proposals
Conducting research on funding opportunities through federal and state agencies and foundations, and pursuing opportunities to support the department’s programs.

Salary Range: $83,800.00 - $179,400.00 Annual
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of management experience in an academic environment.
Demonstrated experience in project management in an academic environment.
Experience with program evaluation, principles of marketing, federal grant proposal writing, fund raising/development, and budgets.
Demonstrated skill in problem solving.
Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Superior written and verbal communication skills including negotiation and public speaking. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize to manage multiple tasks and projects.
