The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time ABA board-certified/eligible Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist. Academic rank, compensation and appointment track will be based on qualifications and experience.
The University of Minnesota Medical Center is a quaternary care academic institution with a robust pediatric cardiac surgical program. Our pediatric cardiac anesthesiology team provides comprehensive care for patients with both palliative and corrective complex heart conditions, spanning from the interventional suite to the main operating rooms. Our division also plays a key role in the perioperative adult congenital heart disease program, defining both our division and the university's strong presence in the field of congenital heart care.
Position Highlights:
- Practice alongside more than 60 Anesthesioloigsts, including a dedicated team of 5 Academic Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologists.
- Clinical focus includes heart failure, assist devices, and transplant.
- University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is an award-winning hospital featuring the Twin Cities' widest range of pediatric specialists and 254-staffed beds.

About the Department:
Here in the Department of Anesthesiology, we are driven to eliminate pain, improve patient outcomes and train the next generation of anesthesiologists. Our department cultivates a culture of inquiry, where best medical practices are determined through clinical and scientific methods as well as translational investigation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Anesthesiology residency and/or fellowship training program.
- Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology with the ABA.
- Pediatric cardiac anesthesiology training preferred.
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
- Ability to work in the United States.

Pay and Benefits:
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. Total annual compensation ranges from $420,000 to $575,000, inclusive of base pay plus expected incentive pay commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
