Position Summary:
This position will create and execute a strategic and integrated development plan to deepen relationships and build philanthropic support for patient care, education, and research at VUMC from the sports and corporate community. This position will report to the Senior Director of Development. Supporting relationships will be established and maintained with many internal colleagues in the development team and across VUMC.
Responsibilities:
- Raising awareness of the VUMC mission and deepening relationships within the sports and corporate community.
- Developing and implementing a plan to secure philanthropic support for VUMC from these constituents.
- Working closely with VUMC development officers and operations team to:
- develop giving opportunities that align with the philanthropic needs of the medical center.
- identify leads, cultivate, and request support in partnership with development officers.
- match sports and corporate causes and interests with VUMC priorities.
- Stewarding and recognizing these partnerships.
- Coordinating the engagement efforts with these partners and ensuring the representation and tracking of these relationships in the constituent relationship management (CRM) database.
- Following VUMC guidelines and policies in the execution of partnership activities/events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Traveling nights and weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) (Required)
- 3 years of experience (Required)
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry or related field preferably in the Nashville market with demonstrated ability in relationship management, or any combination of education, skills, and abilities that will lead to performing the essential functions of the position.
- Established relationships and proven experience working closely with the entertainment industry.
- Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communications skills, and the ability to articulate the needs and interests of VUMC to entertainment industry leaders.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with senior executives, professionals, community organizations, volunteers, and others within an organization.
- Experience in team leadership, marketing, special events, fundraising, strategic planning, and fiscal accountability.
- Knowledge of academic institutions and health care.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
