We are seeking a Director of Research and Analytics to provide leadership and analytic oversight for AMGA’s research and analytics initiatives. This role will drive actionable insights impacting health and healthcare at the national level. The ideal candidate will have expertise in health service research and data analytics to support AMGA’s mission to enhance population health through research-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Principal Investigator (PI): Lead high-impact research projects, including proposal development, study design, data analysis, and manuscript submissions to peer-reviewed journals.
Strategic Leadership: Guide a cross-functional team of research scientists and analysts, overseeing study design, statistical analysis, and dissemination.
Data Management: Develop and manage complex datasets in collaboration with the programming team, ensuring research needs align with data infrastructure.
Financial Oversight: Assist in budget and staffing planning, optimizing resources for maximum efficiency and return on investment.
Thought Leadership: Publish research findings, present at industry conferences, and engage directly with AMGA members.
Strategic Partnerships: Serve as the primary liaison between AMGA and external data partners, ensuring goal alignment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support AMGA’s broader strategic initiatives, including policy, membership, Foundation, and Consulting.
Education: Doctoral degree in health services research, biostatistics, epidemiology, health administration, or a related field. Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
Specialized Knowledge: Expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, health services research, cost analyses, and population health management. Strong background in healthcare systems, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in R, SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, coding, data visualization, quantitative and qualitative research design, and grant writing.
Abilities: Excellent public speaking, writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong leadership capabilities and ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
Experience: Director-level experience in a health system or large medical group, ideally with operations or quality leadership experience (preferred).
