What will you be doing?
The Performance Improvement Associate Consultant is responsible for facilitating simple performance improvement activities and supporting large, cross-functional process improvement teams to achieve the organization's mission and goals and to ensure compliance with accreditation, licensing and regulatory requirements. Supports senior staff in the preparation, facilitation and follow-up of improvement team meetings, compiling and creating graphical displays of data, developing presentations and employing project management skills to ensure goals are achieved within the specified timeframes.
Utilizes data from internal and external sources to transform data into graphs and charts, and other meaningful visualizations. Analyses data for trends, variances, and deficits. Supports health system monitoring efforts and management dashboards by providing regular data updates. Utilizes knowledge and understanding of qualitative and quantitative statistics to synthesize data and extract key insights into the human factors from qualitative information.
Independently generates process maps and flow charts and conducts observation for the purposes of collecting data and establishing the current state. Utilizes knowledge of improvement tools, models, and methodologies (e.g. Human Centered Design, Lean and Six Sigma) to address problems and generation ideas and solutions to improve the care experience.
Organizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously by supporting facilitation of large and/or complex improvement teams and independently facilitating small projects/teams. Supports project teams in meeting key deliverables, timelines, project milestones, and budgets.
Documents project status, activities, and work accomplished toward achieving goals. Prepares and presents project updates to all levels of the organization. Identifies appropriate channels to review work and updates prior to sending to external stakeholders.
Quickly acquires subject knowledge expertise by researching best practices and regulatory guidelines from a variety of sources. Provides consultation and shares expertise with stakeholders/clients across the organization. Presents and communicates conceptual frameworks and storytelling around project output.
Supports Performance Improvement Consultants on cross-functional projects and education efforts.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Solid understanding in the application of principles, concepts, and techniques of quality/performance improvement.
Experience with spreadsheet programs, demonstrated knowledge and skills using PC/Macintosh applications and spreadsheet programs.
Experience with Minitab or other statistical programs.
Acute health care setting and knowledge of health care regulations, accreditation, and licensing requirements is preferred.
Analytical, problem-solving skills, and advanced statistics (e.g. linear regression models).
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively and independently.
Demonstrates effective communication at all levels of the organization.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field. (e.g. statistics, business, science, engineering)
