SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Located on the iconic and bustling Union Deposit road in Harrisburg, the Penn State Health Andrews Patel ? Hematology Oncology Services Harrisburg office is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the clinical team! This office operates during week-day/daytime hours, so enjoy your weekend, evenings, and holidays at your leisure!
The designated Medical Assistant will be completing an array of duties, including room patients, medication reconciliation, and vital measurements/recordings. This position will also include administrative tasks that center upon chart-prep, consistent patient communication in follow-up and addressed inquiries, as well as working on various reports. Other tasks may include asynchronous provider support and other duties, as assigned.
Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
Previous outpatient experience preferred.
