Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Cancer Registrar I

Join our team as a Cancer Registrar I! Use your CTR certification and expertise in medical coding to ensure accurate cancer registry data. Enjoy remote flexibility, impactful work, and a collaborative environment dedicated to advancing cancer research and patient care.

Role Overview

• Review electronic medical records (EMR) to determine eligibility for accessioning into the Cancer Database.
• Abstract demographic, clinical, pathological, therapeutic, and epidemiologic data following established oncology data collection standards (ACoS/CoC, SEER, AJCC, NYS DOH, MSKCC).
• Ensure timely and accurate accessioning of malignancies and reportable diseases into the cancer registry database.
• Maintain high data quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Qualifications

• Abstracting experience at a COC-accredited hospital
• Current CTR or ODS-C certification required
• Strong knowledge of oncology data collection standards (SEER, AJCC, CoC, NYS Reporting).
• Experience working with Metriq and/or EPIC preferred but not required

Core Skills

• Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, ICD-O coding
• Ability to work independently and remotely,
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and the ability to utilize the Internet for research.

Additional Information:

• Location: Remote
• Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday
• Reporting to: Manager II, Cancer Registry
• Pay Range: $31.44-$48.77
