General Summary:
As a Gastroenterologist at UM Charles Regional, you will be entrusted with providing high-quality, efficient, patient-centered, and cost-effective care to our diverse patient population. This role encompasses care delivery in ambulatory, sub-acute, and acute care settings, ensuring comprehensive treatment for all assigned patients. Full-time commitment includes a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient needs and on-call coverage.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing and maintaining complete and accurate records of all patient services rendered in compliance with established standards.
- Upholding and promoting the goals and objectives of Charles Regional through active participation in quality assurance programs.
- Supervising the administrative responsibilities of non-physician staff, ensuring efficient operation within the practice.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participating in budget development and monitoring expenses to meet financial objectives.
- Demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions, fostering positive patient relations and promoting a favorable image of the practice.
- Engaging in practice development activities such as community outreach, volunteerism, and professional networking to enhance visibility and reputation.
- Collaborating with administration to adapt business strategies and practice approaches to optimize productivity and patient satisfaction.
- Contributing to disease management programs aimed at improving care effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Possession and maintenance of current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland.
- Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
- Possession and maintenance of current DEA or similar Narcotics and Controlled Substances Certification.
- Clinical privileges at a minimum of one UMMS affiliated acute care facility.
- Demonstration of meeting minimum Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for licensure and board certification.
- Demonstrated qualifications and experience to fulfill the duties required of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Highly effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with hospital staff, patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic expertise in the field of gastroenterology.
