The Department of Medicine is seeking to hire an experienced Administrative Officer 4 to lead and manage the full scope of administrative operations for an academic or non-academic unit. This role includes responsibility for finance, human resources, IT, facilities, and student services, along with strategic planning to achieve the department’s mission and goals. The position oversees complex budget management, resource allocation, and program development across multi-disciplinary teams and facilities, which may include labs, fundraising, and grant administration. The Administrative Officer will direct activities and support long- and short-term planning through a team of subordinate managers, ensuring smooth, effective operations across all areas.
Annual range: $83,800-$179.400
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.
Advanced interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
Advanced skills in short and long term strategic planning, analysis, problem-solving and customer service
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
