Open to individuals currently in practice as well those scheduled to complete their fellowship training in 2025.
The Cook Children’s Health Care System is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized pediatric health care organization comprised of two Medical Centers, Physician Network, Home Health company, Pediatric Surgery Centers, Urgent Care Centers, Health Plan and Health Foundation. Cook Children’s Medical Center is a freestanding 462-bed quaternary care pediatric hospital that is consistently ranked by US News and World Report. The integrated system has more than 60 primary and specialty care offices throughout North and West Texas, serving a 23-county referral network. The Cook Children's Physician Network is the largest pediatric multi-specialty physician group in its service area with over 600 employed subspecialty and primary care providers.
OpportunityHighlights:
Joining a well-established and collegial Department of Pediatric Endocrinology. Lead by Medical Director, Dr. Paul Thornton, the team is comprised of 13 board certified Pediatric Endocrinologists, 7 advanced practice providers (6 certified pediatric nurse practitioners and 1 physician assistant), CDCES, psychologists, dieticians, and a social worker.
Known internationally as one of the most respected congenital hyperinsulinism centers, the Department also includes a renowned lipid clinic and a CAH comprehensive care center in addition to 8 other multispecialty clinics. All sub-interests of Pediatric Endocrinology will be supported.
The CCHCS recently ranked number one on the Forbes' 2024 list of "America's Best Large Employers" in the “Health Care and Social Services” industry category.
Candidates must be BE/BC in Pediatric Endocrinology and eligible to secure an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
Opportunities available, but not required, to teach medical students and residents as well as pursue clinical research with support including campus IRB, grant writing, research nurses, and a dedicated PhD statistician. The Department holds three Endowed Chairs.
