POSITION SUMMARY: Performs comprehensive Medical Physics/Dosimetry in the field of Radiation Therapy.
Requirements
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: M.Sc. or Ph.D/D.Sc in Medical Physics, and certification by the ABR or CCPM plus 3 years of clinical experience in Radiation Therapy (IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, 3DCRT and HDR, brachytherapy).Junior Physicists on the path of Certification by the ABR or CCPM, with more than 2 years of experience will also be considered.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology in Therapy Physicis (DABR), or Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Physics (DABMP) preferred.
SKILLS: Performs quality assurance of Linear Accelerators, remote afterloaders and simulators used within the facility. Participates in all aspects of clinical Medical Physics
NATURE OF SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Chief Radiation Therapy Physicist of the Christus St Vincent Regional Cancer Center

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Mobility required for moving rapidly, bending, stretching, lifting heavy equipment with assistance, pulling or pushing heavy equipment. Manual dexterity, good vision, hearing and speech. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs above the head or below knee level. Working with power tools following the hospitals guidelines and safety practices.
