Larimer County Department of Health and Environment (LCDHE) is hiring an Environmental Health Director to lead our team and drive public health initiatives that protect and enhance our community's well-being.

Responsibilities
Specifically, this position:
Directs environmental health programs by setting goals, managing program budgets, and establishing measurable objectives and priorities to improve health outcomes.
Leads a dedicated team in conducting inspections that prioritize education and compliance using culturally responsive approaches.
Is a leadership team member focused on cultivating an inclusive work environment with an equity-focused approach.
Fosters collaborative relationships with industry, schools, childcare centers, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and local organizations to advance environmental health quality.
Recommends modifications to local regulations, fees, and regulatory changes to the Public Health Director for Board of Health consideration.

Qualifications
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
Five (5) years of experience performing technical, administrative, and supervisory duties in a public health/environmental health agency, required.
Bachelor's Degree with 30 hours coursework in basic and natural sciences, required. Basic sciences include life sciences, natural sciences, physical sciences, or health sciences.
Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
