The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing support the strategic initiatives of the Brain & Spine Program. The Medical Assistant is a key function to the delivery of care to spine patients requiring surgical and non-surgical interventions with a focus on the patient experience, emphasizing patient engagement and satisfaction at all levels across the care continuum. This role will work hand-in-hand with the Spine Navigator to ensure all necessary actions are taken to identify, register and room patients following standard clinic workflows and clinical practice standards in an accurate and timely manner. The Medical Assistant will have the responsibility for obtaining financial and demographic information, insurance verification, maintaining scanned documentation in the chart and obtaining general consent, as well as, providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician by performing specific services in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. The required registration/certification must be one of the following: American Academy of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, American Registry of Medical Assistants and the National Center for Competency Testing.
