Position Summary:
The Clinic- Medical Assistant (MA) has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The MA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care. The MA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety. The MA demonstrates problem-solving skills as they relate to patient care activities, provides guidance for and acts as a role model for Medical Assistants in the clinical area.
Primary Duties:
Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes and records patient history and vital signs.
Prepares exam and treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and sterilization.
Gives injections, applies splints, dressings, and casting
May collect and/or transport specimens.
May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.

Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma/GED diploma.
BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
Previous experience in a medical setting
Preferred:
National Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant through an accredited body, or current active LPN License in the state of Idaho, or current CNA License in the state of Idaho
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program that is accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or
ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools).
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record programs.
