Job Summary
The Director of Faculty Development provides strategic and operational direction to implement a comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable faculty development program. Advances the professional development of faculty by providing a systematic structure to develop and recognize efforts in teaching assessment and education. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a virtual online platform that will serve as a single portal through which all faculty can access, review, utilize and document their educational development activities, and; fostering networking opportunities to grow an inter-professional community of educators. Incorporates outcomes-based education in graduate medical education training programs for faculty and residents. Assesses and measures the achievements of educational outcomes as identified in the ACGME common and specialty/subspecialty-specific program requirements. Serves as consultant to the program directors and other faculty responsible for the development, implementation oversight, and evaluation of residency programs.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: PhD in adult education, education leadership or other relevant field. Doctor of Education (EdD) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Medical Degree (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Minimum Experience: 10-15 years of work experience as an educator for adult learners or in a position responsible for developing, evaluating, and facilitating learning programs in a healthcare or academic setting. Successful track record as a leader, manager, and strategist in a complex organizational environment, including experience managing multiple projects and simultaneous priorities, and implementing change initiatives.

Faculty development experience, preferably in medical education.
Demonstrated experience with content delivery/management systems and learning analytics.
Ability to lead an interdisciplinary team.

Successful track record as a leader, manager, and strategist in a complex organizational environment, including experience managing multiple projects and simultaneous priorities, and implementing change initiatives.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Serves as a consultant to the program directors and other faculty responsible for development, implementation, oversight and evaluation of residency program.
Ensures alignment of faculty development to support residency education.
Considers best practices and evidence-based practices in the educational community when guiding in the development of and updating program curriculum for faculty development.
Conducts or assists with educational needs assessment and identification of existing resources to meet ACGME common program requirements and educational areas
Collaborates with other personnel in the GME office to facilitate smooth transitions at the end of medical school, throughout residency training, and into independent practice.
Provide faculty members with data-driven insights into the impact of their teaching on learner outcomes.
Knowledge of instructional design, technology enabled learning solutions and/or simulation education tools
Designs and creates training educational videos for faculty and residents
Develops and supports an educational research platform for faculty development and outcomes based education.
Maintains key performance indicators (KPI) boards; delivers reports to manager, director and organizational leaders in accordance with established timelines and processes.
Collaborate with program directors to design and implement evidence-based teaching strategies.
Conducts annual faculty development needs assessment across all GME programs
Leads the Faculty Development Steering Committee
Oversees Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation and implementation.
Promotes inter-collaboration and advancement of evidence-based Faculty Development practices in the Medical Education Community.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned to support the mission of NGMC.
