SUNY Brockport invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in the department of Public Health and Health Education to begin August, 2025. The incumbent will have responsibilities for teaching, scholarly activity and service to the department, campus and profession. The incumbent will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public health education, community health, and school health. The person in this role will engage in departmental, School, and University service activities as well as conduct and maintain an active program of scholarship. Best consideration given to those applications submitted by December 1st, 2024.
Doctoral degree in public and community health education or related discipline from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally accredited institution. ABD candidates must earn their doctoral degree within 6 months of hire.
Ability to teach public health education courses.
Ability to conduct independent research.
Experience with online teaching.
Demonstrated potential for increasing the diversity of the curriculum, student body or faculty through teaching/mentoring or research activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
College health education/public health experience.
Experience in administration/committee management.
Experience in academic advisement.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES, MCHES).
Certified in Public Health (CPH).
Evidence of scholarly activity (e.g. peer reviewed research).
