Children’s Nebraska and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine is currently recruiting a full-time faculty member in pediatric orthopaedics. The opportunity is open to a fellowship trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with interest in pediatric sports medicine sub-specialization as well as other interests including fracture management and general orthopaedics. This individual will join our pediatric orthopaedic division at Children’s Nebraska that currently consists of the four pediatric orthopaedic surgeons, two non-operative sports medicine physicians, and five advanced practice providers. The position will include a faculty appointment at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and this individual will work closely with our orthopaedic surgery residents.
We seek individuals with strong emotional and social intelligence. You will need to demonstrate ability to connect with others in a meaningful way at all levels of the organization, while promoting the clinical, academic, research and advocacy mission of the hospital. Candidates will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Our Sports Medicine Program: The sports medicine program at Children’s Nebraska is seeking an operative pediatric orthopaedic surgeon to join two established non-operative sports medicine physicians with a robust sports medicine program. This is an establish regional outreach program that includes athletic trainers, and dedicated pediatric sports physical therapists. In August 2024, our newest expansion opened, the Children’s Specialty Pediatric Clinic in Omaha. This new innovative center offers several specialties and services that include orthopaedics and sports medicine. Our sports medicine campus possesses state-of-the-art equipment that includes Biodex-isokinetic dynamometry, blood flow restriction training, a gymnastics air track, dance flooring, reformer, and age specific cardio and strength training equipment. Other highlights include indoor basketball key, outdoor multipurpose turf area including a batting cage, baseball throwing space, and track.

Our hospital is the only full-service, pediatric specialty health center in Nebraska, providing expertise in more than 50 pediatric specialty services to children across a five-state region and beyond. Our state-of-the-art Hubbard Center for Children is home to Nebraska’s only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and new state-of-the-art operating rooms. The Child Health Research Institute has been established and will provide start-up funding and infrastructure for clinical, basic science, or translational research.
