The Salisbury VA Health Care System is searching for an experienced Physician specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine to take on the role of Director of Critical Care and Medical Simulation at the Salisbury VAMC. The chosen physician will be responsible for leading a team consisting of pulmonary and critical care physicians, ICU Physician Assistants, and Hospitalists. The SVA HCS is a complexity 1a facility with a level 3 ICU. Paid Time Off: 50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).

Position Requirements:
Board Certified
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine/osteopathic medicine.
Demonstrates knowledge of established evolving biomedical, clinical, and social sciences and the application of that knowledge to patient care and the education of others.
Provides guidance to interns, resident/fellows, medical students, physician assistants and nurse practitioners and are eligible for clinical appointment at Wake Forest University.
Delivers patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life. Comfortable providing training and/or direction to support staff assigned to the unit during the performance of duties.
