Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is part of the Barnes-Jewish continuum of top ranked, compassionate care. It is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, located at 401 Corporate Park Drive in Clayton, Missouri. Organized as a hospital-based facility, Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is under the direction of Barnes-Jewish Hospital medical staff with full support of laboratory and rehabilitation departments. Services range from minimal assistance to subacute post-hospital recovery. Our patients range from the young to the elderly, as well as post-trauma rehabilitation patients and those in need of hospice or respite care. The Housekeeping Department at BJEC is responsible for delivering a clean and safe environment of care for our patients and residents.

Role Purpose
The Director will lead and provide daily & strategic direction for Environmental Services at multi-facilities on the academic campus of BJC HealthCare. Sets long term vision and aligns practices according to regulatory requirements and best practices for infection prevention. Provides leadership, makes sound decisions in support of the hospital’s mission; and supports the hospital’s vision in providing the best facility for patient care, safety, service and value.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Develops a strategic plan for the departments and has oversight for daily operations.
Establishes department dashboard to monitor KPIs and effectiveness of the cleaning programs.
Ensures programs meet regulatory requirements & IP standards and that all required reporting and regulations are met.
