We are seeking a Clinical Nurse to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at our Heritage location in Wake Forest, NC.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, provide and document nursing care at Harris and Smith OB-GYN while utilizing the nursing care process in accordance with physician orders and established procedures.
Provide triage services to patient via telephone conversations and MyChart messages according to protocol. Obtain and clarify patient information. Assess and communicate accurate information to physicians to ensure appropriate care. Complete triage documentation in the EMR. Send prescription refills per physician approval.
Provide education to patients and caregivers concerning prenatal care, postoperative care, medication education and general health issues.
Perform necessary in clinic testing of patient samples of urine and blood with proper use lab equipment such as Clintec and Hemocue.
Assist providers during in-office procedures. Collect and analyze patient data, evaluate nursing care provided and document outcomes and patient responses.
Serves as charge nurse by delegating tasks and supervising the activities of other licensed and unlicensed clinical staff and by assisting other clinical personnel in the delivery of patient care.
Identify improvement opportunities for clinical, operational and safety related performance.
Maintain required competencies for education. Be able to identify learning needs and seek appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
12 months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
Obstetrics and or gynecology experience preferred.
Must have current RN license in the State of North Carolina.
BLS is required
Job Hours:
This hours for this position are day shift, Monday through Friday with no evenings, weekends or Duke scheduled holidays.
