The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center are seeking a BC/BE Interventional Radiologist to join our busy tertiary care academic practice in Hershey PA. They will join our growing team of 5 Interventional Radiologists and 6 Physician Assistants to provide interventional radiology services at the Hershey Medical Center.
Currently the Division of Interventional Radiology performs a full spectrum of standard and complex body interventional services which also provides an excellent training environment for our integrated and independent IR/DR residency program. In addition to venous access procedures, GI/GU interventions, and IVC Filter / PE interventions, the division has a strong interventional oncology program, offering chemoembolization, radioembolization and percutaneous tumor ablations. The division supports the liver transplant and surgical oncology services with a full spectrum of biliary and portal venous interventions to include TIPS, BRTO and mesenteric venous stenting. The division also supports our level one trauma center, stroke center and mechanical circulatory support program.
Working under the academic leadership of Interim Department Chair, Dr. Jonell Thomas and the Division Chief of IR, Dr. Frank Lynch, the right candidate will have an opportunity to explore a fully academic track or a hybrid academic and community pathway where teaching is required but dedicated research is secondary to the clinical mission. Candidates should have interest in developing a high quality, patient focused practice and commitment to excellence to embrace a peer-learning environment while participating in academic and scholarly work.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be Board-certified or Board-eligible in Interventional Radiology.
Medical degree: M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited IR/DR residency program or completion of accredited Fellowship Training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
Licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania prior to the start of employment is required.
Possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills, have the ability to foster research, and share a commitment to excellence and diversity.
The open rank faculty position will be full time with primary effort to support clinical services and time allowed for academic, scholarly, and administrative efforts. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.
