Incumbent will perform duties as a lead position and will provide leadership and oversight to hospital assistant group. Hospital Operating Room Assistant duties to include: patient care; blood products, specimens, and equipment transport; equipment maintenance, environmental sanitation, restocking supplies, cleaning soiled supplies, storing and distributing anesthesia support materials. Other duties include, but are not limited to: customer service and departmental efficiencies.
Salary range: $24.78-$30.82 Hourly
Qualifications
We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:
Knowledge of department specialty equipment (name, storage location, use, basic function, and trouble-shooting)
Strictly obeys the healthcare regulations for infection control: failure to adhere to these regulations will result in disciplinary action.
Consistently demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Actively participates in Quality Management and PIE programs.
Consistently adheres to UCLA Operating Room Services policies and procedures.
Adheres to safety/department employee requirements: i.e. Infection Control Module, Staff Information Handbook, Tb screening, etc. Attends all inservices/workshops as requested.
Attends and participates in required fire, safety, disaster, body mechanics, etc. classes and/or drills.
Always ensures a safe working environment for self and co-workers. Monitors and reports unsafe acts or conditions and takes appropriate proactive steps to resolve and/or report.
Consistently maintains good guest relations interdepartmentally, intradepartmentally, using English language in both written and verbal format, uses good telephone etiquette, sensitive to co-workers, patients, physicians, and family members, consistently maintains a courteous and respectful manner, confidentiality of patients, healthcare or physician related information
Maintains a positive attitude and behavior: efficient and productive with time utilization.Strives to be a team player.

Able to rotate efficiently to all shifts as assigned.
Knowledge of the department’s physical layout, and location of other UCLA Medical Center departments and areas (i.e. PTU, PACU, UPU, Blood Bank, SPD, morgue, etc.).
Knowledge of Operating Room zones (unrestricted, semi-restricted, and restricted)
Skilled in using department’s communication systems (i.e. airphones, Spectra link phones, telephones, report books, etc.).
