The Department of Medicine in the Duke University School of Medicine and Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina is seeking applicants for the position of Chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Duke Department of Medicine. The newly established Division of Hospital Medicine has a robust presence in the clinical care and educational missions with a growing research program. With more than 200 faculty and staff members contributing to the clinical, educational and research programs, the division is among the largest divisions in the Duke Department of Medicine.
The Chief will lead a large inpatient clinical practice across the three acute care hospitals within Duke University Health System. Providers within the Duke Division of Hospital Medicine diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions in adults. Educationally, our faculty serve as clinician-educators at both Duke University and Duke Regional Hospitals and train the next generation of physicians and other clinicians
This position offers:
an excellent opportunity to establish, cultivate and lead a burgeoning research program within the Duke Division of Hospital Medicine while mentoring some established researchers on Faculty
We seek candidates who have:
high level of experience in clinical care, education and research
the ability to provide leadership and direction to advance the key missions of the division.
Applicants for this position must have an MD degree or equivalent from an accredited college of medicine, be board certified in Internal Medicine, and eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor level or higher (tenure track) at Duke University School of Medicine.
