The Academic Personnel Analyst 2 is responsible for analysis and administration of a variety of academic personnel, payroll, and human resources issues of moderate scope and complexity. You will conduct review and analysis of all academic appointment and advancement review files inclusive of merits, promotions, appraisals, and 5-year reviews. Emphasis is placed on meeting deadlines, comprehensive analysis, and completion of projects in collaboration with the members of the CoE. Duties also include but are not limited to the academic review process, dossier management, liaising with the Dean’s Office, Academic Personnel Offices, and other internal and external campus agencies, updating the departmental database and assisting with updating the HR payroll systems and trackers. You will also be involved in academic payroll processing including position control, funding changes, employment updates, and quarterly Z payments.
Salary Range: $30.56 - $60.82/Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Working knowledge of UC-wide Academic Personnel Policies (APM) and bargaining union contracts, and the procedures and practices that govern academic personnel administration.
Working knowledge of local, i.e. DGSOM and/or department, voting and compensation plan bylaws, and the procedures and practices that govern academic personnel administration.
Working knowledge of Compensation Plan bylaws including Outside Professional Activities and the procedures and practices that govern these.
Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and resolve issues.
Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage divergent needs.
Ability to handle sensitive information and/or situations and maintain strict confidentiality.
Ability to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
Ability to compose business, personnel, and/or payroll correspondence.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, managers, and colleagues within and outside DGSOM.
Working knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment; ability to interpret and communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in an HR related field.
Knowledge of UC Path/PeopleSoft or equivalent payroll system.
Knowledge of Opus/Interfolio or equivalent dossier system.
Knowledge of Academic Recruit or equivalent recruitment system.
