Under the general direction from the Vice Chair for Research, the Research Operations Coordinator (ROC) will provide administrative support to the basic science, translational and clinical research missions of the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine (DAPM). The primary responsibilities include coordination of research-related meetings or events, visiting professor program support, schedule and calendar management, preparation of orders and requests, development of materials and documents for conferences, communication with suppliers/vendors/contractors, accuracy and effectiveness of purchased goods and services. The Research Operations Coordinator acts as the liaison between the division, supporting offices, and services. You will provide administrative support to the Vice Chair and PI's to support the activities and goals of the division.
Salary Range: $29.42 - $42.14/Hourly

Skill in prioritizing
assignments to complete work in a timely and accurate manner, managing multiple
tasks simultaneously with conflicting deadlines.
Outstanding effective
oral and written communication skills necessary to make inquiries and convey
information.
Outstanding grammar,
spelling, syntax skills; ability to proofread very detailed materials
accurately and compose correspondence as needed; attention to detail and
thoroughness.
Skill in using a
software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ability to learn various
databases.
Typing skills
sufficient to prepare correspondence, and financial reports with speed and
accuracy.
Ability to use sound
judgement in responding to issues and concerns.
Ability to be
sensitive to and maintain confidentiality of records.
Ability to perform
under the pressure of interruptions and distractions.
Ability to establish
and maintain productive working relationships with coworkers, managers,
supervisors, faculty, University representatives, and vendors.

As the coordinator
have the ability to physically for walk-throughs and meeting support.
Demonstrated ability

direction.

and frequent interruptions.
Ability to work
on-site (on campus) full-time (M-F, starting no later than 9am), including
occasional weekend and extended-hour business. needs.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in
the scientific field of study.
1-2 Years of Experience with
coordinating of events, calendars, etc.
Knowledge of UCLA
purchasing, travel and non-travel reimbursement policies.
Working knowledge of
University business policies and procedures.
Skill in analyzing
information, policies and procedures to troubleshoot problems and/or objectives
and formulate logical solutions and conclusions with strong attention to detail.
