Work under the supervision of nurses, social workers, case managers, psychiatrists, or other medical professionals to observe and support patients with mental health and/or substance use needs. Conduct billable interventions, such as SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment).
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
High School Diploma/G.E.D
2 years of experience in Behavior Health or an associates degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field. At least 1 year of experience working in an acute care setting such as an Emergency Department (ED) or as a Behavioral Health Navigator. Experience in community
BLS
Board of Certification - Within their first year of becoming a level II BHA, you must complete SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment) training and the hours of observation required for billable services. Must also complete within 6 months the Behavioral Health Initiatives Training Framework that includes our package Behavioral Health curriculum and Allyship train-the-trainer training. The Specialist's area of specialty may include other train-the trainer specific courses
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
