NORTON CHILDREN’S GENETICS CENTER, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, is seeking a board certified/ board-eligible physician in both pediatrics and clinical genetics. The candidate will function as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of professionals that provides clinical genetic services. The Norton Children’s Genetics Center team is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical genetic consultation and services to pediatric patients and their families, as well as adults who have or are at risk for hereditary conditions. The team consists of medical geneticists, genetic counselors, metabolic nutritionists and a coordinator for the newborn screening program. Outpatient and inpatient genetic services are provided, as well as consultations with interdisciplinary subspecialists in specialty clinics. Norton Children's Genetics Center staff actively participate in training professionals involved in the care of these individuals and are involved in clinical research in genetics. The program maintains national, state and local prominence through its many unique services.

Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.
