Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week; 8a-4:30p Monday-Friday; Occasional weekend and holiday
Location: UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook Hospital, 500 Remington Blvd, Bolingbrook, IL
The role you’ll contribute:
The Case Management Assistant provides clerical support to the Case Managers and Social Workers to facilitate and execute discharge plans and other related activities as needed. Provides administrative support for the Case Management Department in the absence of department secretary.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Faxing utilization clinical reviews to third party payers
Monitoring receipt and distribution of third-party payer requests and logs
Assists with locating appropriate facilities for placement of patients moving to another level of care
Facilitation of the transfer to alternate care facilities including transport arrangements
Facilitating referrals for home care services
Provides backup administrative/clerical assistance to department administrative assistant
Assists with providing patients with Medicare Important Message (IM) per policy
Insurance authorization follow up
Assists Case Management staff with clerical duties such as faxing and telephone support
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of one year of job-related experience required
Previous data entry experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Intermediate to advanced computer skills required to include, but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
Knowledge of basic medical terminology required
Good public relations/clerical skills required
Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology required
Effective time management and organizational skills required
Ability to display professional interactions with all levels of internal and external customers required
Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English language required
Ability to adapt to new situations and responsibilities required
Bi-lingual (English required and Spanish preferred), both written and verbal communication preferred
