Nemours is seeking a Clinical Education & Professional Development Manager to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, FL.
The Manager of Clinical Education and Professional Development is responsible for managing the development, initiation, evaluation, and oversight of initial and ongoing clinical education and professional development for nursing personnel. Manager is responsible for maintaining through education and professional development programs and services the required standards and competencies in accordance with accreditation standards, professional organization regulations & standards, and Nemours policies and procedures.
The Manager is responsible and accountable for quality, service, and financial performance for the educational programs and services. The Manager is a role model, mentor, educator, coach, innovator, and advocate for the professional nurse to assure the nursing practice is effective in achieving clinical outcomes. Responsible for promoting operational and strategic nursing and hospital priorities. The leader is responsible for role modeling the Nemours Standards of Behavior and Values and advancing the mission and vision of Nemours.
Essential Functions
1. Implement, coordinate, inspect, and evaluate clinical education and professional development programs and services such as, but not limited to, PCS orientation, shadow and academic nursing experiences, new grad program, continuing education, and nursing leadership programs.
2. Promote continuing education and professional development through managing educational contracts and educational agreements, on-site classes, E-Learning opportunities, conference funding, and tuition reimbursement to support organizational operational and strategic goals.
3. Consult with leaders within the organization to assess, trend, and analyze the learning and communication needs of nursing personnel based on current operational plans and current/future strategic plans.
4. Proactively identify and implement improvements in training/education curriculum and communication using industry standards for testing methods, needs analysis, and redesign for communications, training/education programs, and learning materials.
5. Maintain records of instructional development and training activities i.e., evaluations, metrics, tracking systems, and file archival.
6. Provide feedback and partner with other organizational key stakeholders to offer computer-based training and/or simulation programs.
7. Establish effective working relationships with peers, both internal and external to Nemours Children's Hospital.
8. Manage a healthy work environment and learning environment within the department.
9. Manage and oversee nursing clinical educators and other nursing professional excellence education staff. Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel. Monitor and evaluate staff performance. Provide guidance and counseling in reference to employee work performance. Assign and manage projects, direct activities, and review the work products of the Nursing Clinical Educators and other education staff. Provide coaching as needed. Conduct annual performance reviews for Nursing Clinical Educators and other education staff.
10. Monitor monthly expenses and assures compliance with the budget. Aid in the development of the annual budget. Responsible to ensure delivery of high-quality clinical education and professional development, including avenues to generate revenue.

Requirements
- Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred (i.e. Nursing, Education, or other related degree) (must hold BSN and/or graduate degree in nursing)
- Current, active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida required upon hire.
- National Certification in Professional Development and/or Nursing Clinical Specialty
- Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, previous healthcare management experience preferred
- American Heart Association BLS required upon hire
