The role you’ll contribute:

The PBX Operator is responsible for receiving and distributing telephone calls coming into Gordon Hospital in an efficient, courteous manner.  The operator responds to and announces codes quickly and decisively.  The operator maintains compliance with all state, federal, or other regulatory guidelines.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

·       Answers calls in a precise, clear manner, and distributes them to the appropriate room or department in an expedient manner

·       Pages personnel in an appropriate manner

·       Pages overhead hospital personnel and doctors, as requested by appropriate personnel.

·       Pages physicians and hospital personnel on pagers or cell phones when deemed necessary.

·       Pages scheduled meetings and legitimate events as deemed necessary.

·       Responds to codes in an appropriate manner

·       Maintains an accurate knowledge of hospital codes.

·       Responds to a code immediately without delay or forethought.

·       Answer code phone without delay, regardless of other calls coming in.

·       Properly announces codes in an accurate and efficient manner, according to procedure.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

·       GED or High School Diploma.

·       Good organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills. 

·       Must have pleasant voice and personality.
