As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:
Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
One year OR experience required
Previous OR experience with Ortho/ Sports Medicine cases highly preferred
Scrub experience preferred
Day to Day duties:
Circulate and/or Scrub on all cases.
Mainly Ortho, Total joint replacements (Hips, Shoulder, Knees Ankles etc.), Ortho Spine and Sports Medicine.
Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next days cases.
Acting as an advocate for patient before, during and after surgery.
Schedule is made every 6 weeks by the manager
40hrs/WK- Days- variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs
No surgeries on holidays or weekends.Like a Surgery center. No weekends no nights. No Call!!
?Late Stay? is required and scheduled in advance -Sign up for first second or 3rd room late stay. Min 10 late stays in 6 weeks.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements
Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
Experience Requirements
One year experience preferred
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Licenses/Certification Requirements
RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Physical Requirements
Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The Surgery department at OrthoColorado Hospital has 11 pre-op beds, eight OR suites, ten PACU bays, 48 inpatient beds and specializes in orthopedic surgery. Our patient mix is spine, orthopedic including total hips, knees, shoulders and ankles, sports med, foot and ankle, hand and wrist. OrthoColorado Hospital provides advanced orthopedic and spine care with an unsurpassed level of service to help patients achieve the best quality of life. Our team of physicians and nurses work collaboratively to support the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities. OrthoColorado has a great culture, and our caregivers enjoy the small size hospital feel. We only do elective cases which means we just operate Monday through Friday, are closed on weekends and major holidays, and do not have on call. We look for team members that have enthusiasm, punctuality, a positive attitude, and are team players.
